CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI — Prosecutors have brought charges against a 15-year-old student after the teen was caught with a gun on the campus of Chippewa Valley High School Friday. According to the Associated Press, another student and a parent told school administrators that the teen had a gun, leading to his arrest.
“Administrators immediately called police and placed the school in a hold as a precautionary measure,” school superintendent Ron Roberts said in a letter to parents. “Police responded to the call immediately and removed the student without incident.”
The teen was charged Saturday with carrying a concealed weapon, receiving and concealing a stolen firearm and possession of a dangerous weapon on school grounds.
The student is being held at the Macomb County Juvenile Justice Center, according to the Clinton Township Police Department.
