Onic Philippines, determined to improve on the M1 early exit, continued with their impressive Mobile Legends: Bang Bang M3 World Championship run as they swept Singapore’s RSG, 3-0, to reach the top 4 in the upper bracket on Sunday.

The win was a great recovery for Filipino Esports fans after top contender and Filipino champions Blacklist International faltered in a close 3-2 upset loss to USA’s Blood Thirsty Kings a day earlier.

RSG looked well-prepared in Game 1 after they snatched two quick kills on Allen “Baloyskie” Baloy (Rafael) and posted a 4-2 kill spread by the 2nd minute.

But Onic’s daunted “Banana split” strategy easily evened out the net worth by the mid game and took down three enemy outer turrets by the 6th minute without conceding any.

By the 12th minute, all RSG inhibitor turrets were already taken down and the MPL PH Season 8 runner-up used a 14th minute luminous lord take to pull ahead, 1-0.

Despite a similar draft to the previous match, Game 2 turned into a nip-and-tuck affair as both teams had their respective moments early on.

RSG even led briefly when a miscalculated Onic jungle invade was punished with a 2-1 exchange plus the turtle objective.

But the Filipinos’ mechanical supremacy came into play during a 10th minute clash where Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol’s (Yi Sun-Shin) outplay brilliance spearheaded a 5-2 wipeout leading to a luminous lord take to reach match point, 2-0.

With the backs against the wall, RSG came out firing in Game 3 and controlled the tempo of the match from the midgame onwards as Jovan “Babycakes” Ong (Chlint) heated up scoring a 6-1-6 by the 13th minute.

But despite RSG taking a 19-10 kill lead, Onic proved their mettle as they needed only one successful team fight in the 21st minute where Kairi scored a maniac, to lead the 5-1 wipeout and complete the sweep.

They now await the winner of the match between RRQ Hoshi and Todak.
