Thank you. I have one question: Is labor in the house? Is labor in the house? Is labor in the house? Oh, I guess you are. Guess you are. We are here to celebrate you. The men and women of the incredible unions represented by the New York City Building Trades and our great leader, Gary LaBarbera, who brought us all here together to show what working men and women can do to rebuild this city, as you’ve always done after our darkest times. It’s always been the men and women of labor who step up and work through adversity, work day and night work, even through a global pandemic to get the job done.

So I am so proud of every one of you, and maybe it’s because I come from a long line of steelworkers. My grandfather, my father, and that’s why I have steel running through my veins. And I love coming to projects like this. And I look over here, and I see what looks like a sunrise, a sunrise rising up, the symbol of New York after the dark days. Morning has dawned. My friends, I’m saying welcome to the future of New York and leadership like Jamie Dimon and JP Morgan Chase, who said yes, those last 200 years were great, but we’re looking forward to the next 200 years of staying right here in the global financial capital of the world. You’ve cemented that right here today. I thank you.

I thank Janno Lieber for what he has done to keep our subways safe during some trying times, and all the leadership that was recognized here today, because they literally have a stopwatch on me right here. And if I acknowledged everybody I’d go over, this is what more politicians need to keep us in line. So very good way to keep us in line, so very good, way to keep us in line, Jamie, way to keep us line. I am so proud to be here as your Governor to see the rebirth of New York unfolding before our eyes right here at 270. And you are here to see this legacy-creating project.

Someday, you’re going to go by here with your kids and grandkids and their grandkids and say, “My dad, my mom, my grandpa, they built this,” and I could not be [more] proud of every one of you. And I just ran out of time. Thank you everybody.
